What is Root Ritual?
Root Ritual is a UK online shop for dog and cat care. We sell gentle grooming products and everyday essentials, including waterless and flea & tick shampoos, silicone grooming gloves and bath brushes, a steam mist grooming comb, an LED nail clipper, a waterproof dog raincoat and cardboard cat houses and scratchers.
Do you sell products for both dogs and cats?
Yes. Shop our dog collection and cat collection, or browse everything. Most grooming tools, such as the gloves, brushes and shampoos, are suitable for both.

What is the best way to wash a dog or cat without water?
Use a no-rinse foam shampoo. Our Lavender Waterless Foam Shampoo is a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner that cleans a coat in about three minutes with no water, and keeps odours away for up to 48 hours. It is free from alcohol, parabens and silicones, and suits puppies, kittens, senior pets and travel.
Is the Flea & Tick Shampoo safe for puppies and kittens?
Our Flea & Tick Pet Shampoo is for dogs and cats aged 12 weeks and over. It washes away fleas, ticks and lice while cleaning and conditioning the coat, with aloe vera, oat and lanolin to soothe sensitive skin. For pets under 12 weeks, or with skin conditions, ask your vet first. A shampoo is not a substitute for a vet-recommended flea treatment.
What sizes and colours does the dog raincoat come in?
The Carrot Waterproof Dog Raincoat comes in Orange or Blue, in sizes XS to XXL. It is a full-body, all-in-one waterproof suit that covers all four legs, so your dog comes home dry and clean after muddy walks.
What happens if the raincoat doesn't fit?
Return the original for a refund within 14 days of receiving it, unused and with tags attached, and place a new order for the right size. This gets the new size to you fastest.
What is The Cat Retreat?

Which grooming tool should I choose?
For shedding coats, a silicone glove such as our Gentle Grooming Gloves lifts loose hair while your pet enjoys a stroke. For bath time, the Silicone Shampoo Bath Brush holds shampoo in its handle and works it in with soft silicone bristles. To trim nails safely, the LED Precision Nail Clipper lights the nail so you can see where to cut. For hair on furniture and clothes, use the Pet Hair Lint Roller Set (2 handles and 11 refills).
Delivery
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes. UK delivery is free on orders over £50. For other orders, delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 working days. After dispatch, UK Standard delivery takes 5–10 working days and UK Express 3–7 working days. EU delivery takes 7–15 working days and the rest of the world 10–20 working days. These are estimates, not guarantees.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, we ship to the EU and selected countries worldwide, including the US, Canada and Australia. Import duties or taxes charged by the destination country are the customer's responsibility.
Why did my order arrive in more than one parcel?
Some items ship from our partner warehouses, so an order with several items may arrive separately. There is no extra cost.
How do I track my order?
We email you a tracking link when your order is dispatched. Tracking can take 2–3 days to update.
What if my parcel is late or lost?
If your order hasn't arrived within 20 working days of dispatch (30 for international orders), email us with your order number. We'll investigate with the carrier and, if the parcel is lost, send a replacement or a full refund.
Returns and refunds
What is your returns policy?
You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, for any reason, and then have a further 14 days to send the item back. Email us with your order number first and we'll send the returns address. Unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you pay return postage. See our full refund policy.
Can I return shampoos or grooming tools?
For hygiene reasons, shampoos can only be returned unopened with the seal intact, and grooming gloves, bath brushes and combs can't be returned once used on an animal. Other items, such as the raincoat, nail clipper and lint roller set, can be returned unused, unwashed and in original packaging with tags attached.
How long do refunds take?
We refund within 14 days of receiving the item back, or of you showing proof that you sent it, whichever is sooner. Refunds go to your original payment method.
What if my item arrives faulty or damaged?
Email us with your order number and a photo. We pay the return postage. Within 30 days of delivery you can reject the item for a full refund including delivery; within 6 months we'll offer a repair or replacement, or a refund if that isn't possible.
